Seroquel, also known by its generic name quetiapine fumarate, is an antipsychotic medication used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder. It works by helping the brain to relax, allowing more of the chemicals in the brain to transmit signals between neurons. Seroquel can be used to treat conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder, although it's not officially approved for these uses.
Seroquel is available as a generic drug. It's also available in several other generic forms. Some of the brand names for Seroquel include:
The generic name for Seroquel is quetiapine. Quetiapine is a synthetic antipsychotic medication that works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. It may also be used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which are often conditions that affect both people with and without bipolar disorder. Seroquel is available as a generic version and is sometimes referred to as a "generic version" because it's the same drug that is approved for its brand name. However, it's important to note that Seroquel is not FDA-approved for the treatment of bipolar disorder.
Seroquel may also be used to treat symptoms of depression, such as feelings of sadness, lack of energy, and loss of interest in activities. It's not approved for these uses, though, but it may be prescribed off-label to treat conditions like depression and anxiety.
Seroquel is sometimes used to treat other mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Seroquel XR 50mg contains an active ingredient called quetiapine. It belongs to a class of medications called Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and is used to treat a number of mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder (MDD), schizophrenia and major anxiety disorder (MAD). Serotonin is a neurotransmitter which has a role in regulating mood, sleep, energy levels, nerve function and blood pressure. Quetiapine belongs to a group of medicines known as norepinephrine-nadolipid (‘enantiomer’) reuptake inhibitors. It works by allowing your brain to make more of a substance called serotonin. Serotonin also has a role in reducing the amount of ‘paisgly’ (chemical forceps) in the blood. This prevents the blood vessels in your brain from narrowing which helps prevent the blood pressure fall needed to treat symptoms of high blood pressure. Quetiapine Fumarate 50mg contains an active ingredient called quetiapine fumarate which belongs to a class of medications called Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (‘SARs’). This medication works by allowing your brain to make more of a substance called serotonin. Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (‘SARs’) also come in blister packs of 4 x 5 tablets. Each blister pack contains 28 blister packs of 4 x 5 tablets. The active ingredient in Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors is called quetiapine.

To understand the effect of long-term therapy with quetiapine (Seroquel) on sperm quality, in vitro fertilization (IVF) tests were conducted in men with epididymitis (ED) and oligo-ED who were not receiving quetiapine. After 5-6 months, the study included 925 patients. In vitro fertilization (IVF) tests of the study subjects were performed at the beginning of therapy, after 4-6 months, and again after 6 months. The results showed that in vitro fertilization (IVF) test results for sperm quality were inversely correlated with age (P = 0.003), duration of ED (P = 0.001), duration of treatment with quetiapine (P < 0.0001), and sperm concentration (P = 0.003). In vitro fertilization (IVF) test results were inversely correlated with the duration of treatment with quetiapine (P = 0.001). The study also showed that patients with oligo-ED who received quetiapine had longer duration of treatment with quetiapine than the control subjects (P = 0.0005). The study concluded that long-term therapy with quetiapine may be effective in treating ED. The results suggest that quetiapine may be an effective treatment for ED.
Seroquel, gonadotropin; ED, epididymitis
Seroquel (quetiapine hydrochloride) is an anti-convulsant medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. It is a synthetic form of the drug that is used to treat bipolar disorder. It is a synthetic form of the anti-epileptic drug (AED) sertraline. It works by causing the release of certain chemicals called neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, dopamine, and histamine. Serotonin and dopamine are neurotransmitters in the brain. Serotonin and dopamine are involved in regulating the activity of a number of neurotransmitters in the brain. It is believed that they are closely linked. In the past few decades, various studies have been conducted to assess the influence of quetiapine on the levels of the above neurotransmitters. In this study, we evaluated the effect of long-term therapy with quetiapine on sperm quality of patients with epididymitis (ED) and oligo-ED. The study was conducted in men with ED and oligo-ED.
A total of 925 men with ED and 18 age- and sex-matched healthy men were included in this study. The men had undergone a diagnosis of ED from January 2011 to March 2014 and were not taking quetiapine. The men were not receiving any other drugs to treat ED. The men were between 18 and 55 years of age with normal sperm quality of ejaculate with normal or slightly abnormal sperm count. The men were treated with quetiapine (Seroquel) for 5-6 months and then were given an oral treatment with 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 mg/day in either ED or oligo-ED groups. The sperm concentration was measured every day for 5 days. All patients received sexual stimulation with an oral dose of 5 mg/day (injection every day). The men underwent a semen analysis.
Of the 925 men, the mean age was 54.2 ± 10.3 years (mean ± SD) and the mean duration of ED was 14.9 ± 5.0 months. The mean duration of ED was 6.2 ± 2.5 months and the mean duration of ED was 6.9 ± 2.6 months in the ED group (P = 0.003). The mean duration of ED was 6.6 ± 2.2 months in the ED group and 6.3 ± 2.6 months in the control group (P = 0.0096). The sperm concentration was significantly higher in ED group (P = 0.003) than in the control group (P = 0.0007). All the sperm were found positive for leukocytes and/or CD34, and a statistically significant difference was found between ED and oligo-ED groups in the CD34 positive sperm count (P = 0.0033) and the CD34 positive sperm motility (P = 0.0041) ().
The duration of ED was significantly longer in the ED group than in the control group (P = 0.0079). The sperm concentration was significantly higher in ED group than in the control group (P = 0.0096) ().
